The Indian Motorcycles are well-known for its best in class cruiser models that were engraved into the minds of every motor enthusiast. This American Manufacturer had launched another cruising model by creating a buzz in the global auto market, that it is not only a cruiser but something that was beyond the expectations.

That cruiser model is none other than the ‘Springfield Dark Horse’. The Springfield Dark Horse is the performance-based cruising model that carries the true character for what it really meant to serve for. This model is the continuation of the discontinued model ‘Springfield’. The Springfield Dark Horse churns peak power & torque figures to give speedy drives to the biker.

Indian Springfield Dark Horse is available in the market in only one color option as;

The cruiser receives a marvelous design language to impress all the folks, especially the ones who admire for Indian Motorcycles. When compared to the discontinued Springfield, the Dark Horse lacks some amenities to serve the customers. The Springfield Dark Horse lost the windscreen at the front, which eliminates the blow of wind, the chrome finish which enhance the bike stance, and the pillion seat.

The cruiser boasts a 20.8 liters iconic fuel tank which gives perfect posture to the rider. While the 660mm seat height is easy for the rider to leg on the floor. The cruiser also equips reliable features like ABS, cruise control, keyless ignition, light bar, tire pressure monitoring, 9 LED telltale indicators, tank mounted electronic speedometer, odometer, digital tachometer and dual trip meters, which aids the rider to the utmost.

The enormous power to the bike is drawn from the Thunder Stroke III 1811cc V-twin that pumps 150Nm of peak torque @ 2,900rpm. The refined & tuned output is delivered by the bike to serve the rider with an impeccable performance by not let him down further. The transmission duties are carried by a 6-speed gearbox that works duly to transmit the grunt to the rear wheel and also enables easy gear pattern configuration to the rider. Though the bike equips a potent powertrain that churns peak output, it returns a decent mileage of 20 km/l, which is considerable.

The bike was built on a strong lightweight cast aluminum chassis to give secure rides to the biker. The suspension duties are carried by a 46mm fat telescopic forks at the front and an air adjustable monoshock at the rear.

Hence the suspension units at both the ends work duly to give comfy and trouble-free drives. While the bike runs on a 19-inch 10-spoke wheel wrapped by a 130/60B19 Dunlop tyres while the rear gets 16-inch wheel wrapped by 180/60R16 Dunlop tyres.

The 375kg of kerb weight feels heavier no doubt, but it, not a considerable point when comes to the handling of the cruiser. When compared to the predecessor, the Springfield Dark Horse got improvement in the driving characteristics.

To stop the ferocious speed of the cruiser, the biker gets assisted with the 300mm twin disc brake at the front and a 300mm single disc brake at the rear. Hence these braking setup works duly & accordingly with the appropriate application of the biker.
