Yamaha Fazer FI : Review

Yamaha Fazer had forayed into the auto market at first in the year 2009. After some positive feedback from the customers, the bike received so many touch-ups so as to hold the customers and also to withstand in the competitive auto segment. After the launch of Suzuki Gixxer total scenario has changed and resultantly grabbed all the customers towards it. Now the question is, do the Fazer has the ability to contend with Gixxer? Let’s check this out!

 DESIGN & STYLING

As of the styling, the front profile gets a muscular twin headlamp unit that grabs all the style quotient.

The aggressive and robust build fuel tank gives all the muscular look to the bike.

The black colored grab rail at the rear is an additional style quotient that makes the bike more appealing. The Midship muffler appears good.

The decent structured seats provide a comfy ride to pillion and rider.

At the rear, it boasts a sporty tail lamp setup that was drawn from the  FZ series.

 PERFORMANCE

The Fazer churns out a maximum power of about 13.1 PS @ 8000 RPM and 12.8 Nm of torque @ 6000 RPM, which was low as compared to the on-going V1 model. The 2-valve SOHC engine with a fuel injection system enables the Fazer to rush like an adrenaline as the carburetor model.

No doubt, about performance as the instant throttle response, makes the bike a cruiser. This performance makes your day and boosts you too.

I think that Yamaha Fazer is a bit backward in the performance section as compared to the FZ. But the mileage figures makes somewhat happy, with a returning efficiency of 50 km/l.

 RIDING DYNAMICS

The suspension duties are carried out by telescopic fork up front and monocross suspension at the rear end.

Yamaha Fazer eases the rider with a decent handling and control capabilities. For this, it gets improved fat tyres that measure 100/80-17 at the front and 140/60-R17 at the rear scaled on sturdy black alloys.

Thanks to the Yamaha for reliable Braking unit setup. For this, the duties are carried by 267 mm disc brake at the front and 130 mm drum brake at the rear. Hence, all the potent from the bike gets stopped with the application of above-boasted unit.

Finally, this tourer serves the utmost performance to the core, wanted by the mankind.

 WHAT ABOUT PRICING?

Yamaha Fazer-FI receives some price drop with the imposed GST. Hence, it now costs at INR 88,143 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

 IS IT BEST?

The Yamaha Fazer FI gets an attractive design with quality fitments, a mighty NVH levels, and aggressive handling capabilities, that charms the rider to drive more & more distances. But, the only snag is the slight dull performance which we will not expect from the pricey tourer.
